Bhushan's View on Kashmir Not Shared by Team: Anna Hazare
Anna Hazare has quickly distanced himself from Prashant Bhushan on his controversial demand of conducting plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir. Anna clearly said that it was not the team's stand and the lawyer-activist was airing his personal views.
"Prashant Bhushan's statement (on Kashmir) is not the views of the team. He has never asked the team. These are his personal views. The team is not responsible for the comments. We are not in agreement with him," Hazare told the reporters. Hazare said Kashmir is an integral part of the country and he would do whatever he could do for the state.
Anna’s statement came only after Prashant Bhushan was attacked by some nationalist youth over his anti-national statements. This incident forced Anna Hazare to issue a clarification while he was silent until now.
Anna also didn’t commit on the possible removal of Prashant Bhushan from his team after the controversy got public attention, owing to the attack. Anna said that it’ll be decided in future if Bhushan will remain in the team or not. Earlier Kirna Bedi had also said that Bhushan’s views were personal.
